which fucking fedora wearing friendzoned nerd made this thing

yeah but notice that the seal’s intent is to eat those fish and the shark offers a mutually beneficial relationship for them

in which a dudebro unintentionally makes a really accurate analogy for the reason that they’re single forever

That’s a whale shark. They’re docile and in no way threatening to people or those fish depicted. Seals, by contrast, will attack people, possibly out of a frustrated sense of entitlement combined with poor socialization skills.

When analogies fail but then actually are super truthful.

I think someone needs to put a fedora on the seal

It’s good to know that we weren’t the only ones driven crazy by people who “axe” questions.

Okay, see, we talked about this linguisitic phenomenon in my grammar class. I don’t remember what it’s called, but it happens with other words, too - my professor used an example of “uncomfortable.” When you say it out loud, most likely, it sounds more like “un-comf-ter-ble,” thus mixing up the position of the r and the t, like how the k and the s are mixed in this speech pattern. However, not many people are out here acting high and mighty because someone said “uncomfterble” like they are with “ax,” and that has absolutely everything to do with academic biases - because “ax” is associated mostly with Black people (and occasionally lower-class whites), it’s viewed as “improper” speech, whereas most people, even middle & upper class white people who are thought to speak the most ~proper~ version of English, say “uncomfterble.”

And a quick Google search yields that even Chaucer used “axe” to mean “ask” within his writing. (Source) (Source)

tl;dr actually caring about whether someone says “ask” ~”correctly”~~ is rooted in racist & classist biases of language so, consider, not.

I visited our Lapis Lazuli vendor over the weekend and brought back more gorgeous rough material for our jewelry. We’re currently carving rounds, teardrops, septum spikes, and square flared-tunnels from this outrageously blue goodness.

Visit https://onetribe.nu/lapis for the current selection.

Would you rather have our ‘Pentafilon’ flowers or something more unique than the selection you see? We can do that, too. Labrets are also available upon inquiry. Simply email support@onetribe.nu to get the ball rolling.

disney no chinese people don’t wear kimonos that’s a japanese thing, she is wearing a hanfu jfc, just because white people might not know the difference doesn’t mean you should mislabel it

jfc

also PS love conquers all is definitely not the moral of either the original Ballad of Mulan or the Disney movie swear to god the moral of the story is “women kick ass, often with fireworks”

WHY IS SHE NOT IN HER SOLDIER CLOTHES WITH HER SHORT HAIR

WHY DO THEY CALL IT A KIMONO WHEN THE STORY IS SET IN CHINA

WHY DO THEY THINK THE STORY IS ABOUT LOVE WHEN IT’S ABOUT KICKING ASS

WHY IS SHANG HERE? AS FAR AS PIVOTAL CHARACTERS GO SHE SHOULD PROBABLY HAVE HER HORSE INSTEAD

so many things about this just… ugh

More than 4,000 Africans have died from Ebola and the crisis is continuing to escalate, grow and spiral out of control, displacing tens of thousands, killing entire families and instilling fear into the day to day lives of millions of people in West Africa and all white people care about is their fucking chocolate. Fuck Bill Tomson (@BillTomson4 on Twitter), white liberals and Politico (@Politico on Twitter) for this disgusting, racist trash.

Ummm but y’all know most of that chocolate being produced along the Ivory Coast (which is where we get most of our chocolate)… The cocoa beans are farmed by slaves and children, right?

So not only is there a tragedy on top of tragedy for the people there… But it’s disgusting people are not mad that a painful death is striking down the children, as long as slaves can continue to harvest cocoa beans so they can have their blood chocolate.

Yes, darthnickles also provided a great resource documenting all of the child slave labor used in the cocoa industry. An excerpt from the article:

Some children end up on the cocoa farms because they need work and traffickers tell them that the job pays well. Other children are “sold” to traffickers or farm owners by their own relatives, who are unaware of the dangerous work environment and the lack of any provisions for an education. Often, traffickers abduct the young children from small villages in neighboring African countries, such as Burkina Faso and Mali, two of the poorest countries in the world. Once they have been taken to the cocoa farms, the children may not see their families for years, if ever.

Most of the children laboring on cocoa farms are between the ages of 12 and 16,but reporters have found children as young as 5. In addition, 40% of these children are girls, and some stay for a few months, while others end up working on the cocoa farms through adulthood.[…]

Approximately 1.8 million children in the Ivory Coast and Ghana may be exposed to the worst forms of child labor on cocoa farms.

This makes this Politico article all the more disgusting.
